beek: How long have you been wearing beek?

SP: 9.5 years

beek: What is your favorite beek style? 

SP: My favorite style is the Sugarbird, which I’ve taken along with me on so many travels: Hawaii, Mexico, Italy… they have the most comfortable sole, which makes them supremely comfortable for all day wear (and for hours spent waking on your feet). 

beek: How did you come up with the design of the Itsybitsybird sandal? 

SP: Since we travel so much, and I love to pack efficiently, I really wanted a flat sandal that I could easily wear all day long for exploring, and then dress up for an evening of dinner and drinks. Knowing it needed to be comfortable for daytime, the Sugarbird was the natural sole for the sandal. For a feminine touch, I thought barely there straps would be beautiful, so we took the crossover strap design from the Nene sandal and combined it with the leather-wrapped, tubular straps from my favorite beek flip flop, the Sunbeam. Then  for the final dressy touch, added a jewel piece over the toe. 

beek: How did you decide on the final colors for the Itsybitsybird sandal? 

SP: Since I wanted to create a sandal that people would reach for time and time again, I polled my community on instagram and the winning colors were the black and gold and beach and gold combos. 

beek: What do you love about the Itsybitsybird sandal? 

SP: I love that this sandal is both practical and elevated, dressy and casual, and can literally be your only sandal this spring and summer season. beek sandals have amazing craftsmanship, and so I know that when I invest in a pair, they’ll last forever (I still have my original pair from 9 years ago). They’re quality, comfort, and style: the perfect trifecta. 

beek: How do you envision wearing the Itsybitsybird? 

SP: I think the better question would be, when will I NOT be wearing these sandals; haha. I recently took them to Punta Mita Mexico where I wore them for breakfast, exploring, and for dinner… I wear them constantly in my daily life with jeans, trouser style pants, dresses, and shorts, and I plan on bringing them along with me to Europe this summer for sightseeing and evenings out. I know my feet will be happy, and my outfits will be elevated when I wear the Itsybitsybird 🤍
